Who can use the AHA?

To become a certified AHA-rater a 3-day training course and the completion of a number of calibration cases is required. The course teaches the Assisting Hand Assessment, and includes information about the test construct, testing procedure and scoring practice from videos on children with a wide range of abilities. A manual with detailed scoring criteria and a computer based scoring form is provided. After the 3-days course participants are required to complete eight calibration cases and obtain satisfactory results. Five of these are from videotapes/DVD's which are distributed at the course, and three self-produced AHA play sessions. Distance teaching involving individual feedback of these eight cases is provided. The AHA test kit with material for children between 18 months and 12 years can be ordered at the course or during the certification procedure from the company Handfast AB.
